CATSURVEYS Group offers professional, cost effective site investigations tailored to individual client requirements. From initial Desk Studies through to intrusive investigation, laboratory analysis and interpretative reporting, our aim is to meet your expectations in the field of ground investigation.

Working closely with our clients, from major utility companies, consulting engineers, insurance companies to the general public, we are able to offer a versatile approach to site investigations, without the need to re-attend site at a later date to complete further intrusive works.

Working solely or in partnership we are able to offer geotechnical and contaminated land investigation by excavation of sampling boreholes utilising hand auguring, dynamic/cable percussive or rotary techniques. Our in-house Geotechnical Engineers carry out comprehensive reporting and testing as appropriate to our client’s requirements.

Borehole

Core Hole

Working solely or in partnership we are able to offer rotary diamond coring. Diameters ranging from 50mm to 250mm, with larger sizes being available on specific request.
Suitable for all construction hard surface materials and for examination of brick, concrete or composite structures, with both vertical and horizontal drilling available. Our in-house Geotechnical Engineers carry out comprehensive reporting and testing as appropriate to our client’s requirements.

Hand Trial Hole excavation is undertaken to expose existing utilities, foundations or other buried structures which could be readily damaged by mechanical excavation techniques or where use of machine dug pits is not practicable, such as in limited access, sensitive footpath/road settings.

Using the latest in photogrammetry techniques we are able to produce 3D as-built, measurable models of the excavation.

In-situ testing

Working solely or in partnership we carry out the following in-situ testing:

  • Standard Penetration Tests (SPTs) provides in-situ information on the relative density of granular deposits, such as sands and gravel.
  • Heavy (HDP) & Super Heavy Dynamic Probe (SHDP) testing is used to determine the resistance of in-situ soils.

Our in-house Geotechnical Engineers carry out comprehensive reporting as appropriate to our client’s requirements.

Working in partnership we carry out the following laboratory services:

  • WAC Testing
  • Contaminated Soil & Water Analysis
